Characters By Varsha Devarapalli, Jordan Lawson, and Jairad Hydrick "Harrison Bergeron" "Harrison Bergeron" is about a family in the distant future where the U.S. government tries to make everyone equal. People who are superior to others, are given handicaps to make them equal. The parents of the family, Hazel and George Bergeron, give away their son, Harrison, to the government. Harrison is completely superior to the rest of his family and the rest of humanity. He declares himself Emperor. Diana Glompers, the woman in charge of making people equal, kills him. Equality isn't always fair. Theme Man vs. Society Conflict Man vs. Self Man vs. Man people vs. their personal handicaps Diana vs. Harrison/Ballerina Harrison vs. Equality George Bergeron Settings The year is 2081 in the U.S.A.
The future where everyone is equal.
"Lead Balls" are worn by superior people.
