Fifa world cup presentation
Transcript of Fifa world cup presentation
The First World Cup took place in 1930 in Uruguay. But the first international match took place in 1900 between England and Scotland, that ended in a 0-0 draw. There has never been a consistent World Cup winner but Brazil has won the title 5 times while Italy has 4. The World Cup is held every 4 years with rotating host nation(s). Only once has the World Cup been held in 2 nations. This occurred in 2002 with Japan and South Korea hosting one world cup. There are 64 matches total in the tournament with 48 of those matches held in the group stage.
Fifa World Cup Explanation
The Fifa World Cup Has 8 Groups of 4 teams that are randomly assigned
They then all play 3 games 1 against every other team in the Bracket
A win is worth 3 points a tie is worth 1 point and a loss is 0 points.
If there needs to be a tie breaker in the group stage they look at who has scored the most goal and if they still have a tie they look at the team that had the fewest goals conceded. This normally fixes the problem
The 2 winners of each stage are then placed into a 16 team knockout bracket
They will then play 1 game and 1 game only to advance
If there is a tie at regular time they go into they go into a 30 minute extra time period
At the end of the 30 mintue period if there is still a tie then they go into penalties
The winner of penalties will then advance into the next round of the tournament.
Seven matches will be Held in Rio De Jeneiro, Of these including the final. They will be held at the stadium Estadio Jornalista Mario Filho. Better Known as the Maracana. This stadium was built in 1948 - 1949 for the 1950 World Cup. But it was rebuilt and remodeled for the 2014 World Cup which will be held t
his summer in Brazil. With Brazil being the favorite team to win this will be helpful with homefield advantage.
Music plays a fun role in the world cup. As the 2010 World Cup has its own song. The 2010 song was sang by Shakira and was called "waka waka" fun fact this is where she met her now husband Pique.
