We are an Appraisal Services Company (ASC) that manages the appraisal process and requirements for Credit Unions and CUSOs. We are the first ASC and share the core values of and are dedicated to only serving CUs and CUSOs.

How do we deliver value every day?
We currently serve Credit Unions and CUSOs of all sizes that are committed to their mortgage operations.
In contrast, AMCs typically:
serve 30 – 100+ companies (national, super-regional, regional and community banks and Credit Unions)
accept overwhelming volume
favor and prioritize large accounts
are principally concerned with profit maximization
provide impersonal interactions with CUs and Appraisers
CUAS only employs local, highly experienced Appraisers with deep knowledge of their coverage area. Our Appraiser partners have an average of 23.6 years of experience.
We are committed to educating our Appraisers to stay current in all areas of appraisal practice, secondary market guidelines and USPAP compliance.
In addition, our Appraisers
live in communities with your Members. In fact, many of our Appraisers are Credit Union members and we train them to be CU-Member Centric.

Mr. Stickelman is a highly qualified and experienced real estate appraiser with over 15 years of mortgage and banking experience during his 37-year appraisal career. He has been designated as a SRA with the Appraisal Institute for over 30 years and is a designated member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. He has consulted with regulatory agencies including the U.S. Treasury and OCC.
In 1987 Mr. Stickelman founded Stickelman & Associates, a full service appraisal firm that develops high quality appraisal reports, delivered efficiently and cost effectively to financial institutions and various other client classes. He created Strategic Valuation Partners (SVP), a division of SAI that manages compliance and appraisal assignments for banks and Credit Unions. SVP utilized innovative technology and professional experience to deliver, manage and review residential and commercial assignments. In 2008, he founded the Ohio Coalition of Appraisal Professionals (OCAP), a non-profit organization of appraisers that fosters better business practices, education and meaningful, constructive legislation. Seeing a need for a new generation of appraisal service providers, he formed CU AS to ensure credible value opinions to Credit Unions and CUSOs.
Ronald K. Stickelman Jr., MRICS, SRA
John brings over a decade of Credit Union and mortgage experience to CUAS. He began his career in the Credit Union industry working as a co-op in high school for a mid-sized Credit Union in Butler County, Ohio. He joined the largest Credit Union in Ohio in 2002 and held positions from Account Specialist, Branch Manager, and Loan Originator. He left an Interim Sales Manager in the Mortgage Services area. Most recently, he was Director of Mortgage Services for a mid-sized Credit Union in Dayton, Ohio. In just over 5 years, he took the Credit Union from closing $8mm in mortgage transactions to $50mm annually. Additionally, he was successful in obtaining Direct Seller/ Servicer approval from Freddie Mac, Full Eagle from HUD (FHA Direct Endorsement) and established an in-house mortgage-servicing department.
Rob began his career in the real estate industry in 1999, working with lenders, providing valuation services, as well as managing and marketing their REO properties. In 2007, he took a lead role on the Ohio HUD REO management and marketing contract, and within a few years he found himself managing a portfolio of thousands of HUD and Fannie Mae properties coast-to-coast. With his background in real estate sales, real estate valuation, property management and asset management, Rob has a holistic perspective that allows him to problem solve on behalf of our clients and partners.
Director of Quality Assurance
Angie has over 13 years of Credit Union experience. In 2000, she started her career as a Member Service Representative and received several promotions within the Credit Union from call center representative to becoming the Assistant Branch Manager. Prior to joining CUAS, she was a loan originator in the mortgage department. She closed an average of $1mm loans monthly and is well versed in underwriting guidelines for Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, FHA & VA loans.

Todd has nearly two decades of Lending experience working on both the sales and operations side of the business. He held the Vice President of Lending and Collections position with a Credit Union in Virginia that serviced the International Mission Board and had members all over the world. After relocating to Ohio in 2007, Todd remained in the mortgage lending space working for community financial institutions. He was able to thrive during one of the most challenging times in the mortgage industry. Most recently, Mr. Campfield was a Mortgage Loan Underwriting Manager for the largest mortgage loan originator in the country. He brings a unique set of skills to CUAS, in that he has experience with originations, underwriting and managing the loan portfolio of a Credit Union.
