Linguistic Analysis on Poetry
Layout
The appearance of the poem is like a swan

swimming on the water and its body shape is reflected by the mirror like water

"
Even after this bird this hour both drift by atop the perfect sad instant now
" show the image of water

The poem could be divided into 2 different parts
1)
the image of swan

2)
the image of shadow


The way of written in the poem gives the reader the option of reading the poem
no commas or colons or semi colons so it seems that there is no ending to the text

However, the capital letters used at random part in the poem

Verb Tense
Tense may have an influence on the way one perceives a poem

Present tense verb (close relationship between the author and reader)

"this object bares
it helps to describe the actual state of event and to wake the consciousness

Past tense verb
ex) " if swan sang

Pronoun
The absence of pronoun make poem impersonal and cold but in Swan and Shadow used "

" to make an unity between the reader and the author
