Shows and plays
Most of the shows and plays in the Armenian Theater would be like any other ordinary play. There would be musicals, drama, plays, shows, and concerts. Though the Armenian Theater was most known and famous for its romance and comedy shows and plays.
Frunzik Mkrtchyan was a very famous comedian actor of cinema and theater in Yerevan, Armenia. Frunzik Mkrtchyan was born on July 4th, 1930 and died on December 29, 1993. His famous roles in theater and cinema were in Caucasian Style, Gaidai's Kidnapping, Georgi Daneliya's Mimino, and Rolan Bykov's Aybolit-66.
Armenians in the theater did not only create their own plays and shows but they role played and reenacted other famous ones. A Shakespeare center at the Institute of Arts was established in Yerevan, Armenia. Production of Shakespearean plays were performed by the Armenian Art Theater in New York.

Opera and Ballet Theater
This is one of the main and very well known theaters in Yerevan, Armenia. The actors and other performers would perform Opera and Ballet specifically for this theater. Several people in the audience would enjoy the shows and applaud as the actors and performers would perform on the stage inside the theater.
"Siranush" (Merobe Kantarjian)
"Siranush" also known as Merobe Kantarjian was a famous well known ethnic Armenian actress. Siranush was born on May 25, 1857 and died on June 10, 1932, she was one of the very few females to actually become an actress back in the late 1800's in Yerevan, Armenia. "Siranush" was also the very first female actress who played in Hamlet. "Siranush" also played in many other roles but her most famous and well known roles were in Ophelia and Hamlet.
When performing in Armenian Theater the Armenians would wear Traditional Armenian costumes and other types of traditional clothing when performing a type of traditional dance show or any type of musical concert.
History of the Armenian Theater
The Armenian Theater has a very long history as the real Armenian Theater started back in 70 BC. The Armenian Theater got its roots in the Theater of Ancient Greece. The very first historically known Armenian Theater was built in 69 BC and was then later opened to the public.
Vanoush Khanamirian was a famous ballet dancer in Yerevan, Armenia. He was born on November 5, 1927 and died on October 5, 2011. He was mostly interested in opera and ballet. He really loved the theater.
Gohar Gasparyan was a famous Armenian Opera singer in Yerevan, Armenia. She was born on December 24, 1924 and died on May 16, 2007. She participated in theater at the Opera and Ballet theater in Yerevan, Armenia.
Still Standing Tall
The Opera and Ballet Theater in Yerevan, Armenia is still standing tall till this day. People still go and watch others perform on stage as they have more acts,plays, and shows to be ready in the near future.
