Barbie By: Lexi Wallace and Danielle Bourne Barbie was made to be a role model for children showing they could be successful. However now she's just a toy.She was also invented because Ruth Handler's daughter,Barbara, had only paper dolls to play with. Barbie was named after Ruth's daughter and Ken was named after her son. Barbie Millicent Roberts was invented in1959 by Ruth Handler Lilli was the doll that inspired Barbie. She was originally a cartoon character. Ruth got rid of her bee-stung lips, heavy eyelashes, and widow's peek eyebrows to make Barbie. Lilli Impact on society Positive impact Negative impact Barbie entertains little kids and she's a good role model showing kids the can be whatever they want to be.when they grow up. Barbie has impossibly skinny, and has perfect unblemished skin that no one could ever have. Many kids want to be like Barbie but can't.
