Moon phases
The moon has many phases
and they're really cool!
By: Jaden, Izzy and Rheese
The moon changes phases when it orbits the Earth. The moon also changes phases when the Sun gives light to the different sides of the moon and that in turn makes moon phases. The moon goes around Earth every 29 days. When the moon goes around the Earth we see different faces of the moon. Similar to the Earth, half the moon is mostly in the sunlight and the other half is left in the shadows (also known as the the dark side of the moon), but sometimes we just don't see it from Earth.
Moon Phases

Moon phases happen when the light
from the sun hits the moon. For example
when the moon is on the side of the earth that
is closest to the Sun, it is called a "new moon"
(we don't see a moon a this point). When the moon is on the side of the Earth farthest away from the sun, it is called a full moon. What makes the moon seem to change it's shape is just the Earth blocking the sun's light from hitting the moon. The following photo will make this easier to under stand...

How Does Moon Phases Connect to Space?

Moon phases connect to the space
topic because the moon goes around earth
and the sun gives light to different sides of
the moon and when it gets in the right place it
makes a full moon. so there is the last quater moon
beacuse there is only light to a quarter of the moon then it is a new moon.
So that's how the moon phases connect to space.

What Makes The Moon Phases Occur?
Here Are The Names of Some of

The Moon Phases

What Makes A Red Moon
The moon appears red because in the Earth s atmosphere there are a lot of particles. When packets of light called photons from a huge object passes through the Earth s atmosphere, the object lets off a lot of blue particles but lets the red particles pass through. So that being, the larger objects would look more red on Earth than they would in space.
