LOBBY PROCESS

2005

Law was negative, and first approach was taken in 2005 through PWC.

Asking for private ruling through PWC and was rejected due to the word “in the work place” stated on the income tax law.

Lobby was handled through local contact, with the objective that government will issue new tax law (the entire income tax law), approved by parliament.

The law was voted by end of 2008, Positive result with no “in the work place” word.

2008

There is a “non equality” issue where big companies with canteen can tapped tax benefit while small companies with less resources lost the opportunity

2009

MOF decree was release on March 2009, unfortunately the result still not positive.

Utilized some clients to sent letter to tax dept asking whether meal voucher can be used for all employees (April 2009), the response from tax department was received in August 2009, still negative.

Continue to approach tax department to get private ruling / amend MOF decree.

Onward

Sodexo and University of Indonesia conduct research related to meal policy in company for Jakarta Area.

LOBBY PROCESS CONTINUITY

Sodexo Food Pass

  • Lobby process on MOF decree implementation, to meet PIC in Tax Department that in charge for private ruling request. Focusing on “non equality” of big and small companies.

  • Approaching few big unions to support.

  • At the same time continuously approaching Tax Department and ministry of Finance through some consultants/ contacts.
