Transformers: Dark Side of the Moon
Transcript of Transformers: Dark Side of the Moon
was 192 million dollars and was made by paramount studios, and the film took over 1 billion 123 million dollars at the box office It was filmed by di Bonaventura pictures, and was distributed by Paramount Pictures. The film was edited by Roger Barton, William Goldenberg and Joel Negron. The film had such a massive audience due partly to the comic fans that had read them in the past and the tv series that used to run, but mainly to the huge success of the films that ran before this that were very successful like this film itself. the film would have carried a massive audience through from that but also ran a successful advertising campiagn. Marketing They spent a futher 150 million dollars advertising the film all around the world. This included a set of adverts and teaser trailers, posters, a book copy of the film, a video game, a set of transformers toy characters and many other things branded under the name of transformers. the film premiered on the red carpet in the UK on the 27th of June 2011 in London and on the 28th of June 2011 in New York and was planned to be released to the public on the 1st of July but they moved the date back to the 29th of June due to such a positive response the the early release footage. The film grossed nearly 100 million dollars on the opening weekend, out shooting its nearest competition by nearly 4 times the amount on that weekend, and was shown on on over 4000 screens in the USA alone. However the film was not received well by critics or by the public, with only 67% of the public liking it and a really poor 36% of critics liking it. The main fault being it's story line or lack of it, but as all the films before amazed viewers with it's CGI effects, but even with the poor reviews members of the public still kept poring in to view the special effect master piece. Other Windows They released a DVD that sold over 1 and half million copies and the blu-ray did even better selling nearly 2 and a half million copies which grossed between them 63 million dollars. Awards The film was nominated for three Oscars and 27 other awards including 8 Razzie Awards for basicaly what they were calling a terrible film, and actualy won two awards for its soundtrack and its animation.
