standard do I need them to master?
am I going to get them to understand, or at least memorize this?
do I have to teach THIS standard? This one sucks!
is this going to be either
relevant?
fun/funny?
mind blowing?
will I ensure my students place crucial value in this?
do I need to do ahead of time to make cognitive engagement the path of least resistance?
Inspiration is simply making what people already wanted, seem possible.

Assume People Need to be Fixed
Value Compliance
Correct behavior via punishment/"discipline"

We only
pay attention
to those
3 things
When your essential question is standard or mastery based, you are teaching content.
When your essential question is why based, you are teaching people.
