Purpose of lunch is to relax from all school work. With short lunches, students only have minutes to unwind. Younger kids get recess, while older kids get lunch to interact. School helps teach social skills and lunch is a big part of that. Students will be less likley to pass notes and text in class when they can socalize in person. The faster you eat, the more weight you gain. Eating fast is harming the health of studens. Students who eat quickly tend to eat more. Obesity Lunch is for students to refocus.
