What did Hillary Clinton Do?
Bibliography
How did Hillary impact American history?
Hillary had a big impact on everyone, but the main people she inspired were
women!
The list of women who have ran for president is actually long, but unlike the others, Hillary's campaign wasn't on just uplifting herself, it was about
uplifting
all
women
and their
rights
. She once said,
“We need to understand that there is no formula for how women should lead their lives. That is why we must respect the choices that each woman makes for herself and her family. Every woman deserves the chance to realize her God-given potential.”

Healthcare
was also a big deal for Hillary. Her main goal was to have
universal
healthcare. Even though she put forth great effort, this plan failed. She also supported social programs such as
Social Security
and
Medicare
. At the Democratic National Convention, she said,
" It's time to protect the next generation by using our budget surplus to pay down the national debt, save Social Security, modernize Medicare with a prescription drug benefit, and provide tax cuts to the families who need them most."
Even though Hillary made many great contributions, there were a few bad ones also. On October 11, 2002, Clinton voted in favor for the use of military force against Iraq, commonly known as the
Iraq War Resolution
. By 2007, Clinton made a point of refusing to admit that her Iraq War Resolution vote was a mistake, or to apologize for it, as anti-war
Democrats
demanded. Even though she contributed a lot to America, she also made many mistakes along the way.

In 1975 Hillary married
Bill Clinton
and served as
First Lady
from
1993-2001
. In
2001
, she was elected to the
U.S. Senate
and became the only American
First Lady
to hold national office. She served as
Senator until 2009
. In
2007
, she decided to run for
president
against
Barack Obama
, but
quit
after she realized that Obama had
majority
of the delegate votes. After he won presidency, he appointed Hillary as
Secretary of State
. She remained in that position until
2013
.

How did events impact Hillary Clinton's life?
Hillary had many important events that
impacted
her life with the main one being her husbands
impeachment
. When Bill Clinton finally admitted to Hillary that he had former
sexual relations
with
Monica Lewinsky
, a former White House intern, she was devastated, but soon after, began blaming it all on Monica. This brought shame upon the Clinton family from the public. Another event that impacted her life was the
9/11 terrorist attack
. Due to this horrific event, she supported military action in Afghanistan and the
Iraq War Resolution
. Thousands of US soldiers were killed due to this choice.
Who was Hillary Clinton?
Hillary Clinton was born in
Chicago, Illinois
. As a child, she attended public schools in Park Ridge, and was always considered to be the teacher's favorite. At the age of only 13, she encouraged others to vote for
John F. Kennedy
during the
Election of 1960
. In high school, she graduated top five percent in her class with many different awards. With such great accomplishments, her
mother
wanted her to achieve a
professional career
, but her
father
believed that her opportunities should
not be limited by gender
.
