Other social media resources for communication such as a Facebook page, Instagram or Twitter accounts are great for getting information out to your parents and sharing the learning that occurs in your classroom. Here are a few quick tips:
contact parents and students quickly and efficiently, keep parents informed about what happens in your classroom
whether it's brain breaks, keeping the pace of your lessons or managing classroom behavior, there is a tool for you
Raising the rigor of your lessons can be enhanced by the use of producing apps and technology
Remind is an app and web based resource that allows you to communicate through text messages (and emails) with your students and parents.
Fast and easy setup (Meet the Teacher)
Great for reminders, class notes, newsletters and so much more (with read receipts)
Two way and group texting (allowing for conversations), co-teacher support
This is an app that allows you to share class information, photos and notes with the added ability to schedule and manage events with in the app or on the webpage.
Calendar reminders, conference sign up feature, volunteer sign up
Parents can talk to one another to coordinate parties, carpools, field trips, etc.
Share videos and photos with parents like FB (they can comment, like, etc.)
Privacy is HUGE! Make sure that you have permission to share pictures and non-identifying information about your students on these platforms before posting anything.
You can create your own consent form or find one that can work for you through a blog or Teachers Pay Teachers.
Let your administration know what you are doing and involve them in the process.

When integrating technology, you definitely need to experiment with what works for you and your students. Take your time and don't become overwhelmed... experimenting and becoming familiar with the technology is part of the fun!

If you find yourself needing additional assistance, most (if not all) of these resources have both Facebook and Twitter pages! Twitter is an AMAZINGLY FABULOUS tool for teachers (collaboration, networking, professional development...I COULD GO ON FOREVER...) and many of the companies will answer your direct message questions very quickly.
LiveSchool is similar to Class Dojo. This app and website can be used with secondary students and has a more mature and look.
Track points, demerits and comments for students
