Polar Ice Biome
Anexample of adaptation in the Polar Ice Biome is the polar bear. The polar bear has adapted with its white fur, because it's white fur helps it blend in, in plain sight. This is very helpful to the polar bear because they're aren't trees and bushes to hide behind. The scarce amount of plants in the Polar Ice Biome have adapted to the harsh soil with low amounts of nutrients.
How are plants and animals adapted to living in the polar ice biome?
The Ice Caps average less
than 10 cm of precipitation, because it is too cold to evaporate water. Some places are called polar deserts
because they hard;y get any precipitaion.
What is the average yearly precipitation in the polar ice biome?
What is the most common type of
vegetation in the
polar ice biome?
The average annual temperaure in the Polar Ice Biome is 7 degrees fahrenheit, the average winter temperature is -29 degrees fahrenheit, and the average summer temperature in the Polar Ice Biome is 29 degrees fahrenheit.
What is the average yearly temperature in the polar ice biome?

introduction
The soil in the polar ice biome has poor quality, and freezes. Since the soil does not have much nutrients there are a scarce amount of plants.
What is the soil like in the polar ice biome?
On average, how much annual sunlight does your biome get?

You may also hear the the Polar Ice Biome referred to as the Polar Ice Caps. The Polar Ice Biome is a marine biome that is rich in nutrients, from the land around it. The nutrients in the Polar Ice Biome makes a perfect environment for plankton. Temperatures in the Polar Ice Biome have a wide range between summer and winter. Although the weather in the Polar Ice Biome is harsh there is still vegetation. The Polar Ice Biome does not get a lot of sunlight every year.
The most common type of vegetation in the polar ice biome are Wildflowers, Arctic Poppies, Arctic Azaleas, Arctic Lupine, Mosses, Grasses, Lichens, and small shrubs like the Arctic Willow.
What types of animals can be found in the polar ice biome?
Some animals you can find in the polar ice biome are Polar bears, arctic wolves, arctic foxes, wolverines, lemmings, ermines, arctic hare, musk oxen, caribou Orca whales, beluga whales, pilot whales, ringed seals, leopard seals, emperor penguins, adelie penguins.
During the summer the Sun is out all day for 3 monthes. During winter the Sun rarely comes out between late October and March.
