Stephen King
Stephen King was born in Portland, Maine on September 21, 1947. He studied English at the University of Maine, where he met his wife, Tabitha. They got married in 1971 and King wrote his first book, Carrie, in 1973. He
has written
over 200 stories and
has sold
over 350 million books, making him America's best-selling author. In 1999 King was hit by a car. Since then, his health
has been
poor and he
hasn't published
a lot. Although many critics
haven't liked
his work, he received a major prize in 2003.
