Abstract:
->Android is an open source and free operating system. Android is one of the most popular mobile platform.

->It is developed by google and based on linux kernal.

->Android applications are written in java programming language,it converts any data and resources into APK, an android package.

->The first version SDK 1.0 was introduced by google, and the latest version is KitKat 4.4

GPS positioning and tracking
Voice output for getting the location
Sets alarms based on locations
The voice input is given for the destination location
The alarm rings on destination location
Voice checklist alarms for desired location and to do works

Text to speech is enabled
location can be modified
To save frequent locations checklists are used
Checks for location visited in database
On reaching destination reminder is triggered
Flashlight is used

A smartphone with GPS navigation
Software requirements:
Eclipse IDE for Java Developers (version:4.2.1)
Android ADT(version:v22.3.0) plug-in
Android SDK (minimum:v2.2 to maximum:v4.4)
Focus on the blind using arduino processor
Uses hardware integration to the android smart phones
Cloud API is used to communicate arduino and smart phones
Higher security algorithms are used
Functionalities such as face detection, path detection, obstacle avoidance, etc

The Global Positioning System (GPS) is a space-based satellite navigation systemthat provides location and time information in all weather conditions.

The system provides critical capabilities to military, civil and commercial users around the world.

It is a fast growing, technologically sophisticated field, with potential applications in many different industries.

GPS has become a standard element within mapping and surveying applications.
Unwanted latency is produced due to cloud API

Security measures may be sometimes a problem

Cost in-efficient

Time consuming

Hardware failure


Application which could act as a travel alarm and guide for a blind person
GPS based location detection to locate current and destination location
Voice input and output to guide the blind
text to speech technology for availing instruction to user
Alarm on reaching the final destination
GPS based location detection and alarming
Reminder storage and GPS positioning and tracking
has flashlight functionality and checklist is maintained.
