Oversimplified system where people grouping races or individuals together and make a judgment about their status, society and cultural norms.
A fixed impression which is not always based on facts but it is maintained by people who are not willing to look more closely into it.
Why do we stereotype?
easily categorize new things
when we are unable or unwilling to obtain all of the information
books, magazines,television, movies,friends, family
unconscious part of our minds

fat and lazy
addicted to plastic surgery
economy is sustained by drugs and drug lords
corruption and violence
spicy latinas and latin lovers
love to watch soap operas
are said to be snobby
arrogant and rude
world's greatest lovers
people wearing berets
lacking of hygiene
are well mannered
obsessed with class and status
food is bad
love their cars
German men wander around the place in Lederhosen
effiecient and disciplined
stiff and humourless
chatterboxes and bad listeners
goodlooking and crazy about fashion
Italian Mamma rule the roost
all asians look alike
Voodoo and witchcraft
love to play the drums and dance
unwashed, half-naked children with distended bellies and flies on their eyes

What can be done?
stereotyping is not productive or beneficial to a teen's mental and emotional development
they might assume they has to measure up to certain standards
missed opportunities and unmet goals
limit the management's ability to make best use of their employees' skills
affect employee morale and productivity
decreased productivity, dissatisfied customers and reduced revenues
limits the company's creativity, problem solving and competitive abilities
candidates for promotion may be overlooked
work teams do not function properly
establish zero-tolerance policies against discrimination
address individual violations in private
