MODEL UNITED NATIONS BRAGA CLUB
UNITED NATIONS - "It's Your World"
The United Nations is an international organization founded in 1945 after the Second World War by 51 countries committed to maintaining international peace and security, developing friendly relations among nations and promoting social progress, better living standards and human rights.

How does an MUN conference look like?
Before the conference
UNITED NATIONS - "It's Your World"
Unique international character, and the powers vested in its founding Charter make possible that the UN can take action on a wide range of issues, and provide a forum for its 193 Member States to express their views, through different bodies - e.g. SC or GA

The work of the United Nations reaches every corner of the globe. 

MODEL UNITED NATIONS (MUN)
Model United Nations is an academic simulation of the United Nations that aims to educate participants about civics, current events, and diplomacy. Students form teams, are assigned and research a country, take on roles as diplomats, investigate international issues, debate and develop solutions to world problems.

MODEL UNITED NATIONS CLUB
A club where you can learn about international community and the UN and prepare for MUN international conferences;

The MUN club is a club created by young people for young people, who are interested in the workings of international community and the United Nations;
VISION
The vision of the club is to bring young people closer together through the framework of MUN's and at the same time to encourage and prepare young people to take part in these activities

PURPOSE
During the conference
You are assigned a country
Do research
Write a position paper
General debate (speakers list)
Drafting resolutions
Lobbying
Voting on resolutions

HOW TO ACHIEVE THIS PURPOSE?
Club organizes workshops about the structure of United Nations, working of the committees, workshops about preparation for MUN’s, such as learning about rules of procedure, formation of country’s strategy, preparation of position papers, opening speeches, negotiating skills training, resolution writing etc.;



Club also prepares social activities and internal simulations of different UN bodies;

BENEFITS!

Its members will acquire and develop diplomatic and negotiating skills combined with skills of debate, compromise and conflict resolution and get the experience in speech-making while improving English language – while having fun!


Projects will help young people to prepare for the challenges of multicultural, interconnected and globalized future, encourage the volunteerism of the youth as well as stimulate their critical evaluation of the contemporary issues on the international agenda
MUN participants have fun learning about the workings of international community through the lens of current events
WHO CAN APPLY?
The membership is open for all eager and interested young people (students), who wish to learn about developments in international community and the
United Nations :)
