Math Vocabulary

Factors
Fractions
Fractions are like multiplying and dividing but they are all related some how. They have all some thing the same. Example: say if you have a slice of cake there are 8 pieces and 3 people eat the 8 parts so 8-3=5 so it 3/8.
Numerator
Numerator is the top of the fractions like this. Example: 1/3 the 1 is the numerator and the 3 is the denominator.
you see that this is multiples of 5 it like 5,10,15 etc.
Multiples
Multiples are like 3x3=9like all of the numbers 1 to 12 on is at the top the other one is one the left. Example: 1x12 if you don't know that how you use the chart.
Factors are like numbers that multiply together.Example7x8= 56 7 and 8 are the factors.
denominator
denominator the one that is below numerator is the top.Example:4/7 7 is the denominator.
Line of Symmetry
Is when a half of a something gets split into equal pieces. Example: say if I have a sandwich and my friend wants one to but i am out of all the ingredients so the only way is to split the sandwich in half if I split it in half means that is a Line of Symmetry.
Divisor

A divisor it's the middle number
in division problem. Example:
56 7=8 seven is the divisor.
