Transcript of McDonald's and KFC- what is their history?

Statistics What is KFC? Kentucky Fried Chicken(KFC) is a fast food chain that originated in the United States. It currently has restaurants in over 80 countries and territories.
KFC restaurants around the world focus and specialize
on only one type of food: chicken. From sandwhices to whole meals, or just alone and plain, KFC sells chicken in all the styles.
Yum! Brands is the current owner of the chain, but KFC
has been passed through the hands of many different companies and people.
KFC was founded by Colonel Harland Sanders in the 1950s. He was at retirement age by then, and sold it of f to the Pepsi company thereafter. Taking care of his family, Sanders was a very hard-working child. All of his cooking skill and knowledge came from learning how to cook for his family. Before starting the restaurant chain, Colonel Harland
Sanders worked at a service station. There, he did his job, but he also cooked for people who passed by. As more people came in just to try his delicous meals, Sanders moved across the street and opened his own little restaurant-one that focused on chicken. Over the next decade, Sanders worked his restaurant and improved his blend of spices and mixtures.
In 1955, the now confident Colonel Sanders began to
open up multiple restaurants in the U.S. and Canada, modeled after his original one. In less than ten years later, he had more than 600 KFC franchises in both countries.
In 1964, Sanders sold off his interest in KFC to a group of investors for two million dollars. Many years later, the KFC corporation would have passed through the hands of PepsiCo, and the Tricon Global Restaurants, Inc. The restaurants offer the Colonel's original fried chicken, in both the orginial or extra krispy variety. Besides plain chicken as a meal of itself, KFC also serves chicken sandwhiches, chicken pot pies, mashed potatoes, and gravy, along with a large assortment of sides. Statistics What is McDonald's? Who founded it, and when? What is KFC? Who founded it and when? What is McDonald's?? McDonald's is an international franchise,
spread across over 100 countries. It is currently owned by multiple executives. The first McDonald's was founded in 1940
by Dick and Mac McDonald. It was originally a drive-through Bar-B-Q restaurant showcasing a large menu and a car hop service.
In 1948, eight years after the restaurant
started, Dick and Mac closed down McDonald's for renovations. Three months later, it reopened as a self-service drive-through restaurant with a menu of only nine items, many of which are considered classic American foods. When did McDonald's begin to chain out? In 1917, a teen Ray Kroc took on the job of a World War I ambulance driver, but it ended before he started his job. Kroc then work various jobs; from a paper cub salseman to a piano player. Later in his life, he obtained the job of a multi-mixer salesman. Fun fact!
A multi-mixer was a machine that could make multiple milkshakes at a time, which increased the efficiency of restaurants. In 1954, Kroc sold eight multi-mixers(a large order at the time) to the McDonald brothers. Facinated by the effectiveness of their restaurant, Kroc cooperated with the brothers to tell them his vision of multiple McDonald's restaurants around the United States. In 1955, with the help of Dick and Mac McDonald, he founded the McDonald's Corporation. H The Classic McDonald's menu consisted of...
