Transcript of Giantlands animated draft

I remember
Two giants lived here as long as the hill
Tending a garden with kindness and skill

Some seeds were wind scattered, others were sown
Some plants pruned and watered, some left alone

Their knees were like trees, where I'd climb and leap
Their hands were my bed, for a safe, deep, sleep

They tought me the greatest pleasure I know
Planting a treasure and watching it grow
Where are you then? Where are you now?
Aha, uh-huh, oh oh, ah yes
Yes, yes, yes, yes
Here you are my darlin'

Little one, brittle one, flitted and gone
Butterfly flutters by cannot stay long

Stop! Hmmmmmmm, something else

Where are you then? Where are you now?
Aha, uh-huh, oh oh, oh no
No, No, No, No
Where've you gone my darlin'

Caterpillar, fatty-feeler, crunching leaves
Scrunchy bunchy munchy little holes he leaves
Where are you then? Where are you now?
Aha, uh-huh, oh oh, ah yes
Yes, yes, yes, yes
Here you are my darlin'

Oop! Dead head, lost your red, folded away
Time that you grew colours new anyway

Hmmmmmmm, something else
Stop! Hmmmmmmm, something else
Rose: Shall I be mum?
Rose: Things fall apart
Your leaves are gold your skin is old
I cannot count the rings you hold
(collecting leaves)
A thousand thousand stories told
Fold on fold on fold on fold

(holding her leaf)
very, very, very, very, very, very, wee. Tree.
(blows it down) oops!

Mirror tree humour me – I cannot see your mirror tree
It's deeply buried underneath
Your feet your hands your hands your feet.
Rose: After you
All that I know is all that grows
and all that grows is everything
I hear the ground, the dear deep sound, it's of the ground, the earth I sing

Ever deep. Ever keep. I am there
Ever deep. Ever keep. I am there
Flow down. Slow down. We are here
Flow down. Slow down. You are here

Is this a branch that has lost its leaf
Or is it the bareness of leaves yet to grow
Must it be one or the other
Ask of the earth, the earth will know

Is this the earth where a plant was pulled
Or is it where greenshoots are yet to grow
Must it be one or the other
Ask of me, I will know
Am I so old and tired I must lie down
Or am I a helpless child yet to grow
Must I be one or the other
Must I only be one or the other
The earth replies that I am both
The earth will see I need not choose
Doug: Empty
All that I know is all that grows
and all that grows is everything
I hear the ground, the dear deep sound,
it's of the ground, the earth I sing

Ever deep. Ever keep. I am there
Ever deep. Ever keep. I am there
Flow down. Slow down. We are here
Flow down. Slow down. You are here
Rose:
Am I so old and tired I must lie down
Or am I a helpless child yet to grow
Must I be one or the other
Must I only be one or the other
The earth replies that I am both
The earth will witness that I need not choose
Doug: Where are you then?
Rose: Where are you then?
Doug: Where are you now?
Rose: Where are you now?
Doug: Aha,
Rose: uh-huh,
Doug: oh oh,
Rose: oh no
Doug: Yes
Rose: No
Doug: No
Rose: Yes
Doug: Where've you gone my darlin'
Rose: There you are my darlin'
Rose: Very, very, very, very wee. Me
I remember two giants as old as the hills.
Rambling Rose, why she was as free as can be
She didn't keep borders, she didn't wipe spills
She never had worries or cups for her tea

Doug Earth kept his garden in orderly rows
Each seedling was counted within his neat plot
Not a single thing lost, all that's needed he knows
He never had worries or tea for his pot

When a butterfly brought them by chance hand in hand
They stepped into a dance from where they could see
There is all that's enormous: the air and the land
In the smallest of pots and a wee cup of tea
