Transcript of Old Age Home

Old Age Home
Advantages
old age homes have special medical facilities such as mobile health care systems, ambulances, nurses and provision of well-balanced meals. Therefore, they can live a healthy life
Old age homes also provide access to telephones and other forms of communication so that residents may keep in touch with their loved ones.
For older people who have nowhere to go and no one to support them, old age homes provide a safe haven. These homes also create a family like atmosphere among the residents. Senior citizens experience a sense of security and friendship when they share their joys and sorrows with each other.
In old age homes, old people have a lot of free time, so they can utilize it creatively.
Disadvantages
The person is usually very sad. This is quite justified since they are usually leaving the only home they have known for years -- including all the memories.
Once in a old age home, they lose their independence and self-esteem too. Now, anything they do is part of a scheduled activity.
Loneliness is a continuing problem with many. For some visits from their loved ones are few and far in-between.
No longer can they go and pray to a place of worship of their choice; but instead attend the service provided by the retirement home.
(Old age home)
A retirement home – sometimes called an old people's home, although this term can also refer to a nursing home – is a multi-residence housing facility intended for senior citizens.
Types of Old Age Homes
One is the "Free" type which cares for the destitute old people who have no one else to care for them. They are given shelter, food, clothing and medical care.

The second type is the "Paid" home where care is provided for a fee. Nowadays, such "Retirement" homes have become very popular in India and they are well worth considering.
