EVERY ROCK TELLS A STORY Sandstone Sedimentary Igneous metamorphic Sandstone is a sedimentary rock. And is made up of small bits of earth that have been weathering away for thounsands of years, and been washed down to the sea. When there they settle at the bottom and layer after layer settles on top. These layers are under so much pressure that bottom layers slowly turn into rock. Shale Shale rock is a type of sedimentary rock formed by compacted together by pressure. Is normally found under sandstone. When it undergose heat and pressure it becomes a metamorphic rock (slate). Quartz Quartz is fromed in the cracks in rocks as vains. There is a lot of heat and water where they are fromed. The crystals are made when the quarts cools down, and the crystals looks depends on how hot it was when it ws formed. Granite is one of the most common rocks. It is formed underground by molten r0ck melting of lighter materials found deep in the crust. Its found in almost every country. Granite is often used for building material. Marble is a metamorphic rock. Made from limestone, and limestone is a sedimentary rock. But when it is heated and squeezed it changes into marble. Marble is used a lot as floors in buoldings and sometime as sculptures. Slate is a soft rock. It was made from the rock shale. Shale is a sedimentary rock. Slate is mostly found in hills and mountains. Slate is often used for roofs and floors by Annabelle Clark
