by Angeline Ma and Kiana Kehl SPAIN In Spain, there are the most amount of bars, coffee shops, and restaurants in the UNIVERSE!! COOLIO FACTS ON SPAIN:) An extremely important part of their lives... FOOD CULTURE THE ARTS Their most famous sport is...(drumroll please...) SOCCER!!!!! SPORTS FAMOUS PEOPLE In Spain, little kids do not believe in the Tooth Fairy. Instead, they believe in a tooth rat named Ratoncito Perez! FUN FAKTS This is the spanish flag!!!! just kidding, only in the European Union :{) The currency in Spain is the euro whups...its upside down not our problem, though... In all actuality, Spanish food is not spicy! That's right!! NOT SPICY! They use a lot of Chile peppers but the food come out tangy rather than hot. You can taste the garlic though!!!!!!!!!!! YAAAY! ~ Angeline:) Did you know, that in Spain, the hot chocolate is really thick and tastes like warm pudding??? ........ eewwwww Interesting..... Eating breakfast at home is very uncommon......hmmm... $$$Every household buys fresh bread every day!!!!!!! Boy that's a lot of bread! $$$ THATS HOT CHOCOLATE??? Semana Santa: This is a spanish holiday. this holiday lands on the week before Easter. Spaniards carry beautiful floats to the cathedral that show the passion of Christ. Running with the bulls: The Spaniards let loose a pack of bulls and run with them, trying not to get trampled. Bull fighting: We all know what it is, but here's a video clip anyway... This is a traditional Spanish flamenco dance. Flamenco: This is a song, music, and dance that originated in Andalucia around the 1800s. This is a flamenco dance from Carmen, a famous opera A lot of Spanish music is written for the guitar. True story. Along with playing soccer, they also enjoy a good game of handball, cycling, Formula 1 racing, bullfighting, and motorcycling. This is David Villa, a Spanish soccer ball player FESTIVALS: This spanish dish is called, "chicken in sherry sauce." Looks good right?! This dish is made with chicken, ham, onions, and salt and pepper. Mushrooms included. It can be served with the edition of rice and mixed salad. This spanish dish is called pisto. Pisto is a tomato and vegetable mix. This is made with tomatoes, onion, green and red peppers, courgettes, garlic, sugar, and salt and pepper. FAMOUS PLACES PEOPLE =D : P People in Spain for the most part dress like us, except when there is a festival or some MAJOR event going on. In this photo, these little girls are probably dressed for a festival or a holiday. SOOOO CUTE!! The four main languages in Spain are Catalan, Vasco, Gallego, and Spanish The main transportation in Spain is by bus...... HMMM.... Very different from here aye??? most people here have their own vehicles. BEEP!!!! BEEP!!! Pablo Picasso was a Spanish painter as well as a sculptor, print maker, ceramicist, and stage designer. He spent most of his adult life in France and is well known for co-founding the Cubist movement. David Villa is a spanish football player (soccer player). He currently plays as a striker FC Barcelona, and the Spanish National football team. Palicio Real is the official residence of the king of Spain. It is located in Madrid. The La Concha is located in San Sebastian. This is one of the prettiest beaches in Europe Sagrada Familia is a large Roman Catholic church in Barcelona. This beautiful building was constructed by Antoni Gaudi and it looks as if it were melting. One of the most visited tourist attractions in Spain. This building is still under construction today.... That's a lot of construction.................... Spain has over 8,000km of beaches. Spain produces 44% of the world’s olive oil The name Spain diverged from the word Ispania, which means the land of rabbits. 40% of Spanish people between 17-24 smoke. Spanish is the second most spoken language in the world. There are more native Spanish speakers than English. WHAAATTT!?!?!?!? Spain is the only country in Europe that produces bananas. Flan is a creamy vanilla dish, which I find to be rather yummy.... flan in spanish, means vanilla egg custard. This dish is made up of sugar, whipped cream, vanilla extract, egg whites, and almonds this is a delicacy which is served at any place in Spain Navidad: Christmas!!!!!!!!!!! We all know what Christmas is right????? this holiday lands on December 24. In Spain, Christmas Eve is way more important than Christmas Day. Shops may close early on Christmas Eve, but they will be open in the morning. Holidays: All Saints Day: On this day, the spanish families come together and remember the dearly departed. A sur sign of All Saints Day would be the abundance of flowers that crowd the graves. this holiday is on November 1st National Day: National day is celebrated on October 12th. This day celebrates the foundation of America by the one and only, Christopher columbus. This is a picture of Park Guell. Park Guell is a famous garden complex with architectual elements. This beautiful building was constructed by Antoni Gaudi...:0 .. : Most of Spain's population is either Christian or Catholic. Although some of Spain's population includes jews and roman catholics, it is predominately those two religions. LALALALALALA!!! STOP THAT!!
