Bruce Wayne (Batman) witnessed the murder of his mother and father when he was about 10 years old. He inherited his fathers company, Wayne Enterprises, and used the money he earned from that to devote his life to fighting crime in Gotham City.
Beowulf is the son of Edgetho and nephew to Higlac (King of the Geats). This makes him of noble birth. He is from southern Sweden and eventually travels to Denmark in order to help Hrothgar (King of the Danes) get rid of the monster named Grendel.
Batman's most trusted aides are his sidekick Robin and his Butler Alfred Pennyworth
Beowulf has a band of followers who stick with him throughout the poem, but none of them help him except for Wiglaf who helps Beowulf defeat the dragon in the end.
Batman uses many weapons and tools such as a grappling gun, non-lethal explosives, and batarangs.
Beowulf mostly uses his hands as weapons but he also has a sword named Hrunting.
Batman protects Gotham from villains such as the Joker, Two-Face, Bane, Scarecrow, The Riddler, and many more. These villains are serious threats to the city
Violence is a part of Beowulf's story when he fights and kills Grendel, Grendels mother, and the dragon at the end of the poem.

Batman struggles against evil on a daily basis. The city of Gotham never seems to stop producing evil masterminds that want nothing other than to create chaos.
As Beowulf ages it becomes more difficult for him to fight evil. By the time he battles the dragon, he can't fight like he did when he killed Grendel. This eventually leads to his death
Bruce Wayne is owner of Wayne Enterprises. To the people of Gotham he is known as one of the wealthiest men in the community. Very few know that he is secretly Batman
Beowulf is a Geat who lives in southern Sweden and is part of the community there. When he travels to Herot he is and outsider but is widely excepted once he kills Grendel
Batman receives fame, respect, and is glorified for being a superhero. Other than that he doesn't get any rewards.
Beowulf receives glory and fame for defeating Grendel and his mother. He is also buried with the dragons treasure after he dies.
