Norval Dr. Seuss was not a real doctor,
but everybody loved calling him that.
His real name is Theodor Seuss Geisel,
and his nickname was Ted. He was born
March 2, 1904 in Springfield, Massachusetts.
He attended Dartmouth College and planned
to go to Oxford University. He wanted to
become a professor, but later he decided
to become an artist. He died on
September 24, 1991, and lived to be
87 years old. Settings Inside a red house on a cold, cold, wet day. Conflict, Resolution, Point of View Conflict: The cat, Thing 1 and Thing 2 go to their house and make a huge mess. They don't leave and clean up until right before their mom gets home. Resolution: The cat puts Thing One and Thing Two away and leaves. The cat then comes back an cleans everything up saying, "I always pick up all my playthings." Point of View: The point of view in the book, "Cat in the Hat" is first person because the narrator plays a part in the book. The brother is the narrator. Theme Theme: The theme of this book is Efficiency, the ability to accomplish a job with a minimum amount of time and effort. Statements This book is funny, creative, and just all-around perfect. It helps many people with school and teaches kids to have fun. The author is amazing at what he does. I would rate this book a ten! This book should be read by everybody!
