The aim of this commentary is to produce an analysis of the chosen passage and to explain how this relates to the wider context of the work to which it belongs as a whole. Therefore, contextual information necessary to understand the passage should be given, and you must show understanding of how key ideas or themes presented in the extract relate to the concerns of the entire work and its author.
