Joel's Background
Joel Anthony Selwood was born on the 26th of May, 1988. He was raised in Bendigo, Victoria. He has three brothers, two of which are twins. Their names are: Adam + Troy (twins) Joel & a younger brother Scott. His parents, Marie + Bryce are both very good sports people.

FACTS: My grandmother's neice's daughter went to school with the Selwood brothers!

Joel's Career
Joel playes for the Geelong Cats in the AFL. During his career so far, he has won 3 premierships, 2007, 2009 & 2011. He has been Geelong's captain for the past 2 years and is number 14. He is currently 26 years of age and played is 150th AFL game on the 13TH of July, Round 16, 2013, against the Melbourne Football Club. He has reached many milestones such as:
the 'Carji Greeves' medal, AFLPA Best Captain Award, Tom Harley Award 2011,2013, Community Champion 2011, All Australian 2009,2010,2013, Best and Fairest 2010,2013, Robert Rose Courageous Player 2009,2012,2013, Michael Tuck Award 2009, Rising Star 2007, Best Young Player 2008, Best First Year player 2007 from GFC &AFLPA.

Joel has mainly been inspired by his hero Koby Bryant (basketball) and his love for Geelong since he was young. He has also been inspired
by sport and will hopefully continue to do well in the AFL.
