Ghosts are believed to be the energy when a life form dies. Albert Einstein proved this with a law that all energy in this world can not be destroyed, nor created.
Ghosts are created when a life form dies, their energy can not go anywhere or be destroyed, so it lingers in our world.
Most of the time, ghosts are not dangerous to humans at all, but poltergeist's can be. They can throw objects and physically attack you. Poltergeist's are created by negative energy and anger.
