The Misconception of Screamo Music
SURPRISE!
"Second & Sebring"

I believe it's time for me to be famous,
And out of place.
I believe it's time for me to move forward,
When I break through.
This time I'll, make you,
Proud to see me over, come on daylight.
Proud of, who you raised.
Your shelter, your peacefulness.
So this time I'll make you proud.
Proud of, who you raised up.
You know that I will,
Always be here 'til the end.
Come back so I can say thank you for this,
Home cooked meals and a place to rest,
My troubled head when you're away,
I've passed the test, I've earned an A,
Not just in school, but in life,
You'll always be right by my side.
To help me show, hope to all,
That are lost and sick in this dying world.
I'll use the love you left behind,
I'll change their minds, I'll change their minds.
I hope, I hope you smile,
When you look down on me.
I hope you smile.
This can't, we won't know.
I hope that I make you proud.
This is not what it is, only baby scars.
I need your love like a boy needs his mother's side.
This is not what it is, only baby scars.
I need your love like a boy needs his mother's side.
This is not what it is, only baby scars.
I need your love like a boy needs his mother's side, yeah.

Behind the Lyrics
This song was originally written for the lead singers ex-girlfriend who was diagnosed with cancer. But this song has so many other meanings.
Reactions?
Before...
Before i explain the meaning and stories behind the songs, take a listen to this song.
Why?
I love this music. I love almost all music but screamo has something different.
What it Really is to People

Personal Opinions?
The most common opinion of screamo music is that it requires no talent, and you cannot understand the slightest bit of what the singers are actually saying. Here are some peoples opinions based off a yahoo answers quetion:
"nobody answered 4 years ago:
i cant stand screamo. its just a bunch of **** nonsense. you dont even need talent for that, anyone can get paid to scream their heads off. dont like paramore or the others you listed either"

Other Interpretations:
A user from www.songmeanings.com wrote:

"Unsure if he's kissing her scars here alive or dead, but either way it's obvious that he loves this girl, even though she self harms/been hurt in other ways, although she does not love herself. He's then shouting at God, presumably after her death wanting her back
If you didn't think much of the first song, this song will make a bigger impact of dislike but once you understand the lyrics you'll be surprised...
Meaning:
Kayleah Sera from www.punkreviews.net explains the significance of the song.
"This song is about Austin's mother who died in 2007 of Marfan Syndrome. She died in their family home in Sebring, Connecticut on the corner of second street, hence the name. The song is saying that she taught him so much and although he misses her he is moving on from grieving to do what she would want him to do...this song tells you that his goal in life is to make his mother proud."
"It takes a lot of talent and practice to produce the type of scream that is used when producing the music"

"Ceelio
...I have had a really tough life, but scream and deathcore music helps me forget that life I know, and whhad happened over those years..."

CFlores
"When I listen to it I can feel anger, pain and sorrow being released from my system"
It doesn't make people weird because this type of music is different and unique and involves screaming.

"it doesn't take talent.i learned at like 13 to scream and **** and it sucks. beleive me i was like that before i was all into the scene and ****.but then my freshman year i got really into the 60's and 70's and now it's all i listen to.the 60's are the best music decade EVER. screamo sucks.all the bands at warped tour suck too.FOB def sucks.people my age like that and they don't even know good **** like the doors, jefferson airplane, jimmi hendrix, the who,the kinks, janis joplin and so on"
"I kissed the scars on her skin.
I still think you're beautiful
and I don't ever wanna lose my best friend.
I screamed out, "God, you vulture.
Bring her back, or take me with her."
Tear it down, break the barricade.
I wanna see what sound it makes.
I hate this flavor with a passion,
and I fucking hate the aftertaste.
How does it feel, how does it feel?
Well it feels like I'm on fire.
Wake up, I know you can hear me."
