$5000 Non-traditional student grant
A one day conference to link students interested in careers in education and current professionals in the field.
CWU Education Department partners with a Verizon diversity grant.
220 participants:  community college students, university students, practitioners in the field of early childhood and elementary.
2010
Center of Excellence in Education partners with Teaching Equity, becomes fiscal agent and provides monetary support for conference.
Teaching Equity is linked with Unity Week events - held at end of week yearly.
CWU collaborates on planning - no funding.
178 participants:  Tech-prep Teaching Academy high school students, community college students, university students, practitioners in the field of early childhood and elementary.
2011
WEA's Minority Leadership Cadre hosts yearly conference in conjunction with Teaching Equity, providing planning support and funding.
HCC and Center of Excellence in Education are leads.
Keynote: Dr. Jeff Duncan-Andrade, recent TEDTalk national educator.
240 participants: WEA educators of color, Tech-prep Teaching Academy high school students, community college students, university students, practitioners in the field of early childhood and elementary.
