The Order of Writing a
Persuasive Essay Choosing a Fairy Tale Select a Story: Visit http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~spok/grimmtmp/
for a complete list of Grimm's fairy tales! Select a fairy tale and defend the villian. Brainstorm! Come up with three reasons why the villian is innocent. Think of facts, examples, explanation, and details to support each of these reasons. Write your supporting paragraphs. Use a topic sentence. Give lots of examples. Use active voice by avoiding "to be" verbs. Use transition words. Remember...there should be three supporting paragraphs. Add an introduction and conclusion. Tip: The conclusion is last word in your argument...really drive your point home! Tip: The introduction is kind of like the opening argument of a trial in court. You're almost done! Use spell-check! Proofread your work...does it make sense? Read it out loud...this helps you hear how your writing sounds. Save your writing as a Rich Text File...this allows your teacher to open it! Submit your work to the correct assignment link. Great work! Review the rubric that is in the Resources button. What score do you think you will earn?
