The Mortal Instruments City of Fallen Angels Novel Summary - City of Fallen Angels The novel is a fictional tale. Throughout the book your following the main character Simon transitioning from humanity to vampirism, but this novel also elaborates on the pre-existing relationship between Jace and Clary. A mysterious someone’s killing the Shadowhunters who used to be in Valentine’s Circle and displaying their bodies around New York City in a manner designed to provoke hostility between Downworlders and Shadowhunters, leaving tensions running high in the city and disrupting Clary’s plan to lead as normal a life as she can — training to be a Shadowhunter, and pursuing her relationship with Jace. As Jace and Clary delve into the issue of the murdered Shadowhunters, they discover a mystery that has deeply personal consequences for them — consequences that may strengthen their relationship, or rip it apart forever.

Meanwhile, internecine warfare among vampires is tearing the Downworld community apart, and only Simon — the Daylighter who everyone wants on their side — can decide the outcome; too bad he wants nothing to do with Downworld politics. The Mortal Instruments-City of Fallen Angels
Written by Cassandra Clare. Clary fray is in training to become a Shadowhunter, although she tries, she never fully succeeds. Her boyfriend Jace Wayland is the one that usually helps her with her training but he is always so distracting.
She is very stubborn and determined about the things she does.
Her relationships with friends, family, and Jace get more complicated each day.
She's always trying to find away to make everyone happy.
Her adventures well never end. The Circle Downworlders By Jessica Young Maureen Brown Explaining some of the Characters The City of Fallen Angels is the fourth novel of the outstanding series The Mortal Instruments. Main Characters Jace Wayland is a Shadowhunter and started training when he was only 2 years old and now he's 17 years old.....let's just say he has a lot of training.
He is one of the most talented Shadowhunters of his age and up to 20! Impressive.
His relationship with Clary becomes indangered when he starts dreams of him killing her in her sleep-he intends to try and avoid her as much as possible so nothing that his nightmares would come ture-but he always runs in to her.
He has many runes on his body from past battles with demons and rough Downworlders. Everybody wants Simon on there side because he is now a 'Daylighter' - someone (vampire) who can walk in the sunlight - but he got his powers from drinking Jaces blood when his life was indanger <-(City of Ashes). Simon is always in trouble or is going to be in this novel
He is having a very hard time dealing with his vampirism
His mother finds his stash of drinking blood and flips-she basically pushes away her own son when she finds out he is a vampire, but he erases her memories and she forgets the whole thing.
Simon finally finds out what happens when he dates two girls at the same time-Isabelle (Shadowhunter) and Maia (Werewolf)-he thinks that just because their not dating exclusively. Big mistake on your part bud :) Simon Clary Jace "Quotes!!!" '"I don't know. Do you really think it's such a big deal?" Simon sounded plaintive. "I haven't had a single conversation with Isabelle-or Maia-about dating exclusively"' -Simon (34) '"I never wanted to be a vampire," Simon said, half-wondering why he was telling these things to this strange woman. "I wanted a normal life. When I found out I was a Daylighter, I thought I could have one. Or at least some approximation of one. I can go to school, I can live at home, I can see my mom and sister-"' -Simon (20-21) '"You will and when you do, you will not forget it." She leaned forward, and her pale hair brushed across his hand. "You cannot hide your true self forever."' -Camille (21) "I am nothing like Valentine." -Jace
'"Arn't you?" The words seemed carried on the cold air, a whisper meant only for his ears. "You never knew your mother. You never knew your father. You gave your heart to Valentine when you were a child, as children do, and made yourself a part of him. You cannot cut that away from yourself now with one clean slice of a blade."' -Sebastian (420) Characters I think are Important Sebastian Magnus Bane Important Objects The First Object The Morgenstern Ring The ring was from Valentine to Jace but ever sence Jace found out that Valentine was not his father, but was Clary's he decided to give her the ring. He thought it would be better to give it to her because it was her fathers and because he loves the ring and he also loves her. <3 Clary wears Jace Morganstern's Ring as proof of his love <3 The Second Object Runes Runes are drawn by Shadowhunters on surfaces, especially their skin (Marks), to invoke power or protection. Shadowhunter runes are found in the Grey Book. Runes cannot be created by regular Shadowhunters, but Clary Fray has the extra ability as a result of her father’s experiments. See Marks. If There Was a Gift I Could Give to a Character it Would be..... Humanity Simon has always-ever sence he turned into a vampire-always wanted to be human again. He wants to go to school, hang out with his friends at the same age and not be 16 while his friend are 50 or so. He would like to live a normal human life with his family instead of seeing them past away when he's still living. If there was a gift I could give it would most definitely be humanity, -to be a mortal again- for Simon. Themes Revenge Sebastian and Lilith are both trying to get revenge on Jace because Jace mostly killed Sebastian, and because Sebastian has Liliths blood in him she thinks that she is his mother so she got very mad at Jace for almost killing her only child. 2nd Theme And Last Love is an important theme of the book due to the Love Clary and Jace have for one another.
Both are a very good couple, they are respectful and are loyal to eachother. Love!!!<3 Simon himself is dating two girls named Maia and Isabelle but he still feels strongly for Clary, whom he once loved. Novel Recommendations I would recommend this novel to anyone who enjoys an amazing fictional story full of Mythical Proportions and Undeniable LOVE <3 If you enjoy people 'getting what's coming to them,' then this is the book for you!! 'Maureen's CITY OF FALLEN ANGELS blog update' Isabelle Lightwood Alec Lightwood Sebastian Verlac, otherwise known as Jonathan Christopher Morgenstern, was the son of Valentine Morgenstern and Jocelyn Fairchild. Jonathan is the older brother of Clarissa Fray/Fairchild/Morgenstern As a baby, he was hated by Jocelyn because his father had experimented on him before birth, dosing him with the demon Lillith's blood. Because of this, Lillith watched him constantly and aided Valentine, viewing Jonathan as her son. Jonathan became a cold, bloodthirsty psychopath, even faster and stronger than Jace. He was adept at charm and charisma but was in reality vindictive, arrogant, and cruel. The son of Valentine-The enemy of all Shadowhunters. Magnus helped Clary's family in the past, and he still continues to help them throughout the 'City of Fallen Angels'. As the High Warlock of Brooklyn he has many responsiblities, but he decides to take a vacation with his new boyfriend Alec. They both go all over the world.
Magnus is described as at least partially Asian, very tall and thin, with black hair that is usually spiked and glittery. He wears all kinds of make-up, such as glitter around his eyes and lipstick. He likes to flaunt his sexuality by wearing rainbow leather pants, sparkly belt buckles, and vibrant nail polish. Magnus has yellow/green 'cat eyes', which have vertical pupils. They are his mark for being a warlock. Children of the Night - Vampires Children of Lilith - Warlock Children of the Moon - Werewolf Children of Lylic - The Fair Folk or Faeries Downworlders are creatures that are human-demon hybrids. They are not necessarily evil but can be. "Downworlder" is a generic name for the children of the moon (Werewolves), the children of the night (Vampires), the children of Lilith (Warlocks) and the children of Lylic (the Fair Folk, or Faeries). Downworlders cannot be Marked but can share Shadowhunter abilities thanks to the Alliance rune (the only rune they can bear to be Marked with, created by Clary Fray ). Isabelle Lightwood is a Shadowhunter. She is Jace Wayland's adoptive sister, and she has two biological brothers, Alec and Max Lightwood. Isabelle is the middle child of the Lightwood Family. Isabelle is rebellious and often dates Downworlders to get attention from her parents. (She had a short-lived relationship with vampire Simon Lewis, and a past relationship with the faerie knight Meliorn). It is also suggested that Isabelle is trying to draw attention away from her brother, Alec, so her parents won't find out about his homosexuality. Isabelle's signature weapon is a whip, given to her by her father for her 12th birthday, which she wraps it around her wrist. Alexander "Alec" Lightwood is a Shadowhunter. His sister is Isabelle Lightwood and his brother is Max. His parents are called Maryse and Robert Lightwood and in his family trees you can also find the Penhallows, though the Shadowhunter race is so old that almost all Shadowhunters are related to one another.
