Our policy action includes:
Informing policy-makers and stakeholders about environmental solutions
Providing input to regulatory processes and international negotiations
The development of policies to mitigate the sector’s impact on the environment
Collecting information
IATA is an important source of information and expertise for its members
Ensuring timely information is critical to ensure IATA has an influence in policy-making decisions.
Informing IATA members
IATA is an important source of information and expertise for its members
IATA provides its members with analyses and advice on regulatory requirements
IATA provides regular updates on relevant developments
Formulating industry positions
IATA helps ensure the industry speaks with one strong voice
IATA’s Environment Committee (ENCOM) advises IATA on environmental policies and strategy
IATA facilitates the adoption of joint positions on key issues
Representing the members’ interests
IATA represents the members’ interests among governments and international organizations
IATA is an observer to the International Civil Aviation Organization and participates in the work of its Committee on Aviation Environmental Protection
IATA takes part in public consultations and engages directly with policy makers
IATA coordinates with regional associations and other industry stakeholders directly or through the Air Transport Action Group
Timely information also enables airlines to react to and prepare for new regulatory requirements
