PLACE Supply Chain Management A technique that firms employ to efficiently and effectively integrate their suppliers, manufacturers, warehouses, stores, and transportation intermediaries into a seamless operation. Each retailer depending on the industry they are in will have supply chain systems that will vary in order to fulfill customer expectations. Supply Chain System Customers expect Chipotle to provide them “food with integrity” Chipotle adopts an unique and efficient supply chain system that achieves this goal. Suppliers -> Distribution Centers -> Store Location Selection Chipotle original location was based in Denver Colorado Locations : 1316 (43 states, Canada, London, Paris Tends to be located in areas such as highly populated suburbs and cities. http://www.allstays.com/c/chipotle-restaurant-locations-map.htm Two most local Chipotle’s are located in the Colonial Park area, as well as, the Chipotle that is in the process of being built and opened soon in Camp Hill In a time where our nation is experiencing a housing crisis it may be difficult to find locations to start new restaurants By the time a location is determined to be beneficial there is a good chance that location has already been bought up Chipotle’s Usage of Alteryx This has allowed for decisions to be made much faster and allowed employees responsible for analyzing this information to better utilize their time Has allowed for much quicker and smart expansion of the restaurant Food and Farms

Chipotle depends on some states more than others Organic vs. naturally grown
Meat (beef, chicken, pork)
Vegetables (seasons, states) Sustainable Farms This method of farming uses techniques such as crop rotation, soil conservation, natural fertilization and polyculture planting. In livestock production, they use pasture-based systems, feed animals what their bodies are designed to digest, and treat their animals humanely. Sustainable farms produce foods that are tastier and more nutritious than foods produced on factory farms, while also preserving the long-term health of our environment. Animal Feed Industrialized farms use animal feeds that often contain antibiotics, growth promotants, animal by-products, and a variety of other ingredients that may be harmful to an animal's health. Chipotle believes that farm animals should be fed a diet substantially similar to what they would eat naturally. WHERE? Supply Chain Management
Why is it important to Track products from the supplier to the store. Maintain the promise of “Food with Integrity” to the consumer. Suppliers must meet strict regulations. Manage costs efficiently. Buying organic produce and free-range meats drive up food costs, making supply chain management crucial for keeping prices consistent. Processing

Random evaluations Chipotle also outsources to Armada Supply Chain Solutions in order to get a more organized look at its marketing channel and logistics management. By using technology such as EDI, inventory is tracked much more easily at Chipotle’s many distribution centers. Each store can individually make orders based on their current inventory and projections. This allows Chipotle restaurants from becoming overstocked, keeping fresh local food coming in and out the doors. These distribution centers help compliment the company’s pull supply chain. http://www.chipotle.com/Media/California%20Transparency%20in%20Supply%20Chains%20Act%20of%202010.pdf Conclusion Supply Chain Management: Suppliers -> Distribution Centers -> Store Food supply locally grown (organic)
