Knapp definition

"Skill is the learned ability to bring out the pre-determined results with maximum certainty, often with the minimum outlay of time, energy or both"
What is a technique?
A technique is the way an athlete performs a skill.

In some sports, players use different techniques to produce the same skill

The most effective way to consider a technique is to consider how to skill can be broken down.
i.e preparation/execution/recovery.
What is a tactic?
Tactics are skills and strategies a player uses in any type of sport to be able to win.

For example in hockey each team will apply specific tactics and strategies to try and beat and outwit their opponents.
