Chapter 9 Task
Transcript of Chapter 9 Task
Canada's Government: Louis Riel did nothing but stir up trouble for the Government of Canada. What we do is for the good of Canada and the the Metis people should respect our decisions. The execution of Louis Riel has slightly calmed down but a new problem is breaking out. Many are furious about the execution of Riel. Francophone: As Francophones we think otherwise. Louis Riel too, was part Francophone, and many Canadiens supported him, and many opposed against his beliefs. What Were the Positive and Negative Consequences of the Political Decision Made in This Time Period: The main positive consequence that occurred was that the Metis people were acknowledged and recognized their rights to land. The main negative consequence was that Louis Riel was executed and his death impacted a lot of people especially his supporters. Exhibit or no Exhibit? In conclusion, I do recommend an exhibit featuring Louis Riel. He fought for his people and beliefs and died a true hero to many. "Life, without the dignity of an intelligent being, is not worth having." ~ Louis David Riel
Riel voiced his opinions and thoughts and made them heard by the Government of Canada. Hero or traitor, Louis Riel still had a hand in helping Manitoba become the fifth province to join Confederation. Louis Riel Statue Video About Louis Riel
