How Were These Pyramids Constructed?
The people of Ancient Egypt used counter weights to move water. A device known as a “shadroof” was most commonly used. The Egyptians may have figured out that they could use the same method of transportation on the stones of pyramids. Historians are unsure of this due to the lack of evidence pointing towards this idea. Egyptians frequently used skids to move the giant stones onto the pyramid. Several men would push the skids under the block and then push it up a ramp and into place. Another method was a windlass which is a wheel and axle machine where the axle is fasten to the wheel.
