The Mongol Empire is a Eurasian empire of the 13th and 14th centuries. It was founded by Genghis Khan.

By: Miriam Greenblatt The Mongols were a nomadic civilization. That means that they moved from place to place constantly changing their borders. The founder of the empire Genghis Khan, is known as one of the best leaders ever. He conquered and overtook man tribes and people making Mongolia a really powerful civilization.The Mongolians also had a really big amount of spirituality. They were shamanism{a kind of nature worship}. They worshiped nature as if nature was the god of the world.

By: Miriam Greenblatt Being nomadic, the Mongols had lots of different types of arts. Arts like oral literature, music, and dance. Poetry was important to oral literature. Professional readers read some poems on special occasions. The Mongols also really liked folktales. These folktales are put in all genres, like romance to abnormal things. People would read them at festivals and in marketplaces. In the music part of the arts the Mongols played wood winds. They danced and sang to every piece of music they hear. Genghis Khan was the founder of the Mongol Empire(in 1206). He used his power to take over a very large empire that stretched from the Pacific ocean to the Caspian Sea. The results, the expansion of the empire. Genghis Khan was born in 1167. It is said that Genghis Khan's real name is Temuchin. His father(Yisugei) had named him. Genghis Khan is a title meaning "Oceanic Ruler". After long hard years of battling to gain the title. His work paid off.

By: Miriam Greenblatt In the begining, their was little to nothing of an empire. But, when Genghis Khan step forward the empire expanded. From when he founded the empire to when he died, Genghis Khan will be remembered as the greatest leader of them all. Another part of the rise of the Mongol Empire was that Genghis Khan had created laws. Yasa is the legal code for his laws. Some of the laws were against lying,spying, and snooping around other peoples business. He had lots of laws. And all of these laws the citizens had to follow. It brought peace to the Empire.

By: Miriam Greenblatt Genghis Khan conquered many other empires. Including Northern China. The first empire that he gained was The Uighurs. They had given Genghis Khan their allegiance. The second was Xi-Xia. Also, was Northern China. This made another expansion of the empire.
Houses Ger are round moveable tents. The Mongols thought that the ger was a small universe. The circle ceiling stood for the Heaven, the square hearth stood for the earth. The Land The land in the Mongol Empire has three kinds of vegetation. There a forest, the Gobi desert, and mountains. The climate is different. In the summer its temperature is 64 degrees Fahrenheit. Sometmes it goes up to 100 degrees. In the winter the temperature goes down to 25 degrees Fahrenheit below zero. All these things add up to one big empire that will be in the history books forever.
