John had a brother named James and his fathers name was Zebedee. James was also part of the 12 Apostles. John was born in Bethsaida, Syrian Arab Republic and died in Ephesus, near Turkey (100 AD). Out of all the Apostles, John was the one to die peacefully.

John traveled to a country called Ephesus (present day called Turkey).
John the Apostle was put on an island by a Roman group that wanted john to die, but it wasn't the first time they tried to kill him. The first attempt they did is that they forced John to drink a liquid but with poison in it. There the Romans thought that he was killed, but he wasn't because at the moments later he woke up. So there, the Romans thought that it was impossible to kill him, so they send him to an island and there John died peacefully. Out of all the 12 Apostles, John was the only one that died peacefully.
