How To: Begin A Ballet Class Everyone should stand at the ballet bar facing one direction Begin standing in 5th position. When the music begins, point your toe out to 2nd position. Then, close your feet in first position. Next, point your toe out to 2nd position. Next, point your toe to 4th position. Lastly, go to 5th position. Do two demi plies and one grand plie. Sous-su Soutenu (turn to other side) End in 5th position, and you are ready to begin the other side.
