Makes notes here about all the things that surprised you from the interview, and those that challenged the assumptions you had.
The problem statement encapsulates the need for the stakeholder you will continue working on for next week
There isn't balance between the humanistic and the technical part
CONTRADICTION: "elite, artistic teaching doesn't help to get a job in real world" BUT "employers don't value elite, artistic knowldege" (impossible to infer what's the real view)
Specialization is good and makes you employable (or successful as an entrepreneur)
University isn't necessary, self learning is possible and desirable
Entrepreneurship is risky, it's better to be employed
Professionals aren't valued (because of this incremental-prone mentality), what the entrepreneur thinks isn't valued; what venture capitalists think is.
Society (at least local) is short-sighted, only interested in quick results, that's why they don't support initiatives that take longer to root
University is divorced from real context because teachers and professors belong to an elite (museum curators, well-traveled people) who have an elitist, artistic view of design, totally unplugged from real context
Transition is hard
University is focused on entrepreneurship but there aren't enough resources
Resources are available to small improvements of existing ideas and technologies, not for innovative ones
An ideal system is one where institutions allowed students to follow their innate talents and interests
Students leave school with tons of shallow knowledge, but little specialization. People have "innate focus" towards something they like or are good at.
University isn't really necessary. He learned by himself what he wanted to do, with little involvement from university.
University is necessary because of society, society requires certificates
"What can you tell a boss, who is interested in making money, about Da Vinci?"
Technical institutions focus on doing and are very oriented to local context.
Never received (while in university) insights of the real world (salaries, local and int'l market, how to get into the market.
Employers don't value the load of knowledge that the professional brings (as reflected in the benefits he receives)
Salary, stability and adequate environoment are key elements when he looks for a job
Interviews look for lots of traits that weren't given at school or that aren't really required to do the job

There is a contradiction between the idea of having been formed by too elitistic / artistic teachers and the idea of not being appreciated enough by employers
Institutions don't build upon students talents and interests, they dump bulk information and mandate all to be equal

Employers interview for skills that don't need / use. By doing this, they make the process more difficult for interviewees
