especially the antagonist

Man vs self
The protagonist experiences conflict with his/her conscience.
Man vs Supernatural
Man has a conflict against forces that are outside the "normal" realm. This would include religious or ghostly conflicts.

The conflict between a man and mechanical antagonists or the mechanization of society in general.
Man vs Destiny
A character attempts to break free of a predetermined path OR is searching for his path. "Fate."
