Final Thoughts on Membership Healthy Church: Matthew 18:15-20

1 Corinthians 5

1 Peter 5:2
II. Membership Should Happen Hebrews 10:24-25

“24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: 25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. “ III. Members are to be Committed Hebrews 13:17

“Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.” IV. Membership is Submission Acts 2:42-47

“42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. 43 And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles. 44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common; 45 And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need. 46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, 47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.” V. Membership is Limited Choice As we do membership right here there are a number of costs:

-Our culture will further not understand us
-Other churches will not understand
-People will think we are too demanding
-People will think we are heavy handed
VI. Letting the Church be Ruled by Christ I. The Church are the Redeemed Ephesians 5:25b-27

“25b Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; 26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, 27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.” When People Leave Unbiblically Relational Problems

'God's Leading'

Comfort There are also a number of blessings:

- Christ will be honored
- The gospel will be protected
- People will be discipled
- People will be loved
- People will serve
- The church will be purified by the Word
