The Holocaust
The Story of a Tragedy What was it? The Holocaust was Hitler's
reaction to the people in the world
he did not like. A Jewish man assassinated
a German diplomat. That angered the Germans Hitler invades Poland and
vows to conquer all of
Europe. European devastation/countless
bombings Concentration camps are implemented
to speed the process of killing unwanted
peoples. Germany is defeated in 1945.
Most of the larger cities are in
ruins. Germany is divided into parts
and controlled by several countries
around the world. The world mourns over such
an atrocity. Kristallnacht Removal of all Jews, Poles, gypsies, homosexuals, and handicapped. Ghettos The Aftermath U.S. declares war on Germany Trials Any German who was involved with
the Holocaust was tried and found guilty. 24 are convicted; 12 are
sentenced to death (1945)
