don’t forget a single blessing!
God forgives your sins—every one.
God heals your diseases—every one.
God redeems you from hell—saves your life!
God crowns you with love and mercy—a paradise crown.
God wraps you in goodness—beauty eternal.

May the Peace of Christ be with you.

1 Thes: 5:16 The Message
pray all the time; thank God no matter what happens.
This is the way God wants you
who belong to Christ Jesus to live.
Psalm 29 - A psalm of David.
Ascribe to the Lord, you heavenly beings,
ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.
Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name;
worship the Lord in the splendor of his[a] holiness.
The voice of the Lord is over the waters;
the God of glory thunders,
the Lord thunders over the mighty waters.
The voice of the Lord is powerful;
the voice of the Lord is majestic.
The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars;
the Lord breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon.

He makes Lebanon leap like a calf,
Sirion like a young wild ox.
The voice of the Lord strikes
with flashes of lightning.
The voice of the Lord shakes the desert;
the Lord shakes the Desert of Kadesh.
The voice of the Lord twists the oaks
and strips the forests bare.
And in his temple all cry, “Glory!”
The Lord sits enthroned over the flood;
the Lord is enthroned as King forever.
The Lord gives strength to his people;
the Lord blesses his people with peace.

Sing out my soul, sing out my soul,
Sing out and glorify the Lord who sets us free,
Sing out my soul, sing out my soul,
Sing out and glorify the Lord, God.

Sing out and glorify the Lord who sets us free
Sing out my soul, sing out my soul
Sing out and glorify the Lord God.

Introit and Gathering
“Prayer is taking the chance that against all odds and past history, we are loved and chosen, and do not have to get it together before we show up.” -Anne Lamott

We are glad that you have shown up tonight. It does not matter how you got here or even if you really wanted to come to this worship service. You are here now. Trust that you are right where God wants you to be.

(Adult)
6 [The Lord] who made heaven and earth,
the sea, and all that is in them;
who keeps faith forever;
7 who executes justice for the oppressed;
who gives food to the hungry.
The LORD sets the prisoners free;
8 the LORD opens the eyes of the blind.
The LORD lifts up those who are bowed down;
the LORD loves the righteous.
9 The LORD watches over the strangers;
he upholds the orphan and the widow,
but the way of the wicked he brings to ruin.
10 The LORD will reign forever,
your God, O Zion, for all generations.
Praise the LORD! (Psalm 146:6-10)

(Youth) “God has made everything beautiful in its time.” Ecclesiastes 3:11

(Child) “The one who began a good work among you will bring it to completion by the day of Jesus Christ.” Philippians 1:6

(Youth) The hand of the LORD came upon me, and he brought me out by the spirit of the LORD and set me down in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones. 2 He led me all around them; there were very many lying in the valley, and they were very dry. 3 He said to me, “Mortal, can these bones live?” I answered, “O Lord GOD, you know.”…So I prophesied as I had been commanded; and as I prophesied, suddenly there was a noise, a rattling, and the bones came together, bone to its bone. (Ezekiel 37)

(Child) But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” (2 Corinthians 12:9)

(Child) Praise the LORD! How good it is to sing praises to our God;
for he is gracious, and a song of praise is good.

(Youth) 2 The LORD builds up Jerusalem;
he gathers the outcasts of Israel.
3 He heals the brokenhearted,
and binds up their wounds.
4 He determines the number of the stars;
he gives to all of them their names.
5 Great is our Lord, and abundant in power;
his understanding is beyond measure.
6 The LORD lifts up the downtrodden;
he casts the wicked to the ground.

(Adult)
7 Sing to the LORD with thanksgiving;
make melody to our God on the lyre.
8 He covers the heavens with clouds,
prepares rain for the earth,
makes grass grow on the hills.
9 He gives to the animals their food,
and to the young ravens when they cry.
10 His delight is not in the strength of the horse,
nor his pleasure in the speed of a runner;
11 but the LORD takes pleasure in those who fear him, in those who hope in his steadfast love.

A Time to Pray (unison):

Trusting that “Wow” and “Awe” are meant to dance together…
Trusting that there is One is ready to surprise us…
even when we think there is nothing new under the sun…
Trusting that we see more when we pay attention…

Let us see with new eyes…
Let us lead with our hearts…
Let us embrace wonder again…
And name the people, the places, the events, the moments…
That took our breath away…
maybe brought tears to our eyes...
touched our hearts…
and perhaps even left us trembling…
because God’s glory and holiness that had come so near.

Instructions:
You may name your “Wows” on our Facebook page.
You may write about a “Wow” and place it in the box
(no one will read it but God).

You may just remember in silence.

In all these ways, let us pray
“Wow” before God.

Reflection - Amen
Prayer changes us
-C.S. Lewis
Prayer
“Gorgeous, amazing things come into our lives when we are paying attention: mangoes, grandnieces, Bach, ponds… …Astonishing material and revelation appear in our lives all the time. Let it be. Unto us, so much is given. We just have to be open for business.”
