Stress is the body's response to any real or perceived threat. "I don't know how I'm ever going to get everything done."
"I should do well on this test or I am a failure."
"My friends should say hi when I see them in the valley."
" If my grade doesn't make the cut my future will be ruined."

Often our thoughts can shape a cycle of defeat & cause unnecessary stress. What am I feeling? Afraid, Frustrated, Hurt, Neglected, Uncomfortable, Incapable, Pressured, Tired, Vulnerable, Rejected, Disgusted, Offended, Conflicted, Crabby, Dissatisfied, Hopeless, Crushed, Spiteful, Threatened, Bitter, Confused, Conflicted, Disrespected, Overwhelmed, etc.

Emotions help measure our thoughts and what is happening inside us. Why am I feeling these things?
What is the cause? Giving a speech
Taking a test
Relationships
Conflict
Long "To Do" list
Change: physical environment, major, etc.
World & local problems Planning for the future
Wondering "what if..."
Health
Appearance
Pleasing others
Making major decisions
Student loans/$ Eat well
Exercise
Limit caffeine & sugar
Get 7+ hours of sleep
Basic personal care & hygiene
Form healthy relationships
Intentionally relax By Identifying, Analyzing, & Prioritizing the things in our lives, we can stress less & enjoy our college experience to the fullest! "Stress is like spice-in the right proportion it enhances the flavor of a dish. too little produces a bland, dull meal; too much may choke you."
