Transcript of The Tudors
Elizabeth I made a big impact on England.
Catherine was the first wife of Henry VIII however before this marrage, Catherine of Aragon was the wife of Henry VIII's elder brother, Arthur. Once Arthur died, Henry married Catherine. However, Henry VIII realised that Catherine of Aragon was not giving him a son to rule over England after his death, so he got a divorse.

Anne of Cleves was from Germany and from her pictures she was very pretty - this was not the case. The painter Thomas Cromwell hired must have flattered Anne of Cleves with his beautiful painting of her. Anyway, once Anne got to England, Henry VIII IMMEDIATLY wanted a divorce.

Henry VIII was the son of Henry VII and once Henry VIII became king, the Tudor period began. Since Henry VIII was the second son, he was not expected to become king, we know little of his childhood until the death of his older brother Arthur, Prince of Wales. We know that Henry attended the wedding celebrations of Arthur and his bride, Catherine of Aragon, in November 1501 when he was 10.
Mary I was the daughter of Henry VIII and was the oldest child. Mary I, when she reigned, was also known as Bloody Mary for all of the heads she chopped off. Mary I's mother and father were Henry Tudor and Catherine Tudor (Henry VIII and Catherine of Aragon).
