vote. Result of Push and Pull Factors Push- Jim Crow and Lynching Push- Sharecropping Push- Boll Weevil Push- No Jobs PULL- JOBS!!!!!! African Americans brought their culture
with them. Writers Artists Musicians Jazz was brought to France by black soldiers
in World War One and became popular amoung
both white and black people. Racial and Ethnic Conflict Racial prejuidices still exsisted in the north. last hired, first fired Race Riots in 1920s White Americans in both
North and South worked
against racial equality Hard to accept when African Americans
fought in WWI to "make the world
safe for democracy" Anti-Immigrant feelings became worse More Catholic and Jewish left
East Europe and became targets
of the Ku Klux Klan Laws limiting number of immigrants
were passed Prohibition outlawed alcohol to control
the immigrant population The law was widely ignored and led
to crime through gangs and speakeasys Law repelled in 1930s
