Transcript of PROGRESSIVE STORY PROJECT

This project shows
PROGRESSIVE STORIES
that have been created by groups of
STUDENTS
from different parts of the
WORLD
. This means that each paragraph in the story has been written by a different group. The groups, apart from writing the stories, added
PICTURES
that illustrated the contents of their paragraphs and also added
VOICETHREADS
. Thus visitors to this wiki can not only read the stories but also listen to them and see pictures related to the stories. The following is an example of a story created from the project...

The students created their part of the story with their teacher. Both the teacher and the students contributed with thoughts and ideas and the teacher was a mere scribe in the process. Teacher and students brainstormed and negotiated all decisions together. This kind of project focused on the process of writing more than in the writing itself. Students also had to draw or create three pictures that illustrated their part of the story. Finally, some students recorded their voices telling their part of the story.
STORY = TITLE + BEGINNING + MIDDLE PART + END

A story was written by different groups belonging to different schools. The first group wrote a start, the following groups, after brainstorming ideas, followed the story and the last group finished the story and added a title to it.
The main platform where the project was organized was a Wiki page.
GLOBAL PROJECT EVALUATION

To create the story, the groups used the wiki space to write their paragraphs on. As for the pictures, they had to use a computer program (they could also draw the pictures and take photographs of them) and finally a Voicethread tool to record their voice to tell the story.
TEACHERS
Of course, my favourite part of the project is the part where students had to finish a story others had written and add a title according to the whole sense of the story.

From my point of view, the project is amazing. As for something that could have been improved, I would say that each group could have added the ideas that came up in the brainstorming part. Also, I think groups should have used the same font and size when writing their parts of the story.
